JewelersBid
Marketplace and Offer Disclaimer
Last updated: September 11, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, exactly what an offer on JewelersBid is and is not, and what role JewelersBid plays (and does not play) in your transaction. It supplements, and does not replace, the Terms of Service.
1. JewelersBid is a marketplace, not a party to your sale
JewelersBid connects customers who want to sell gold or silver jewelry with independent, approved local jewelers. JewelersBid is not the buyer, the seller, a jeweler, an appraiser, an insurer, an escrow provider, or a shipping provider. JewelersBid does not currently collect or transfer any transaction funds, and does not take possession of your item at any point. The sale itself happens directly between you and the jeweler you choose, in person.
2. What an offer actually is
Every offer you see is a preliminary estimate a jeweler prepared using only what you provided through the platform: your description, photos, video, approximate weight, stated purity, and any other details, together with publicly available market information such as spot metal prices at the time. An offer is not an appraisal, and no offer is a guarantee of a final sale price.
3. Final value can change after in-person inspection
A jeweler may adjust an offer only after lawfully inspecting, weighing, testing, or authenticating your item in person — for example, if the item's actual purity, weight, condition, or authenticity differs from what could be determined from photos and a written description alone. The Jeweler Standards and Compliance Policy requires a jeweler to explain any such change to you before you decide whether to proceed. JewelersBid does not guarantee that a final in-person price will match the original online offer.
4. You are never obligated to accept an offer
Comparing offers, marking one as “interested,” or selecting a jeweler to message does not obligate you to sell to that jeweler or to anyone. You may decline every offer you receive, at any time, with no obligation and no penalty.
5. What JewelersBid does not guarantee
JewelersBid does not guarantee, verify, or warrant:
- the purity, authenticity, ownership, or condition of any item;
- the accuracy of any offer amount, or that a final in-person price will match it;
- that any particular jeweler will perform professionally, honestly, or at all;
- that any transaction will actually be completed; or
- the conduct of any customer or jeweler.
“Approved to participate” describes a jeweler business JewelersBid has manually reviewed and not (yet) found a reason to reject — it is not a statement that JewelersBid has verified that jeweler's license, insurance, identity, or business claims, unless that specific check was actually performed and is recorded on file.
6. No shipping, escrow, or payment handling
JewelersBid does not arrange shipping, hold funds in escrow, or process payment for any transaction at this time. Any exchange of the item and payment happens directly between you and the jeweler, in person, on terms you both agree to.
7. Your responsibility
You are responsible for deciding whether, when, and with which jeweler to proceed, and for complying with applicable law in connection with any sale you complete. If something about an in-person visit feels wrong, you are never required to proceed.
8. Reporting a concern
If a jeweler pressures you, silently changes an offer without explanation, or otherwise behaves in a way that concerns you, please tell us through the Contact page. JewelersBid may investigate and may suspend or remove a jeweler's ability to participate, but taking or not taking action on a report is not a guarantee, endorsement, or verification of any kind.
This page is a plain-language description of how JewelersBid operates. It is not legal advice, and it does not create any guarantee beyond what is explicitly stated here.
