Terms of Service

Last updated: September 11, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of JewelersBid (“JewelersBid,” “we,” “us”), currently operating in a limited soft-launch in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use JewelersBid.

1. What JewelersBid is

JewelersBid operates a marketplace that connects customers who want to sell gold or silver jewelry with independent, approved local jewelers who compete for that business with sealed offers. That is the entire current scope of the platform. JewelersBid does not currently offer repair-quote bidding, diamond/gemstone/watch transactions, payments, escrow, or shipping, and does not schedule appointments on anyone's behalf beyond the in-app messaging described below.

2. JewelersBid is not a party to your transaction

JewelersBid is not the buyer, the seller, a jeweler, an appraiser, an insurer, an escrow provider, or a shipping provider, and it is not a party completing the in-person transaction between you and a jeweler. JewelersBid:

  • never takes possession of your jewelry;
  • never inspects, weighs, tests, or appraises your item;
  • does not currently collect or transfer any transaction funds; and
  • is not present at, and has no way to verify what happens during, any in-person meeting between you and a jeweler.

The final sale happens directly between you and the jeweler you choose, in person, on terms you both agree to at that time.

3. Offers are preliminary estimates, not appraisals

Every offer shown on JewelersBid is a preliminary estimate a jeweler provides based only on the information, photographs, video, description, weight, purity, and other details you supplied through the platform, together with publicly available market information such as spot metal prices. No offer is an appraisal. A jeweler may change an offer only after lawfully inspecting, weighing, testing, or authenticating your item in person — see the Marketplace and Offer Disclaimer for the full explanation of how that works.

JewelersBid does not guarantee the purity, authenticity, ownership, condition, or final value of any item, the accuracy or amount of any offer, whether any jeweler will perform as expected, whether any transaction will actually be completed, or the conduct of any customer or jeweler. You are never obligated to accept any offer, and you may decline every offer you receive with no obligation of any kind.

4. Eligibility and your acknowledgment

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a sell request. Before submitting a request, you confirm that you own the item or are legally authorized to sell it, that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you understand offers are preliminary and that you may decline every offer without obligation. You are responsible for making lawful decisions and complying with applicable law in connection with your use of JewelersBid, including any sale you complete with a jeweler.

5. Jewelers

A business must apply and be manually approved by JewelersBid before it can see or act on any customer request. “Approved to participate” means JewelersBid has reviewed the application information the business provided and has not (yet) found a reason to reject it — it is not a license verification, insurance verification, identity verification, or background check, and must never be understood or represented as one unless that specific check was actually performed and recorded. Each approved jeweler independently attests to complying with applicable business, licensing, buyer-identification, recordkeeping, stolen-property-reporting, precious-metals-purchasing, and consumer-protection requirements for any purchase made through the platform — see the Jeweler Standards and Compliance Policy.

6. Investigations, suspension, and removal

JewelersBid may investigate complaints about a customer or a jeweler and may, at its discretion, suspend or remove any account's ability to participate on the platform. Approval to participate, and continued participation, is not a guarantee of future access, and is not an endorsement of any customer's or jeweler's conduct, honesty, or business practices.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit false, fraudulent, or materially misleading information; misrepresent your identity or authority to sell an item; attempt to access another user's account, private media, or messages; attempt to circumvent the sealed-offer process (for example, by coordinating offer amounts between jewelers); or use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

8. Intellectual property

JewelersBid's name, branding, and the platform's own text, design, and software are owned by JewelersBid or its licensors. You retain ownership of the photos, video, and descriptions you upload; by submitting a request you grant JewelersBid a limited license to store and display that content to the parties described in the Privacy Policy solely to operate the marketplace.

9. Service availability

JewelersBid is provided on an “as available” basis during this soft-launch period. We do not guarantee the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and features described in these Terms or elsewhere on the site may change as the platform develops.

10. Disputes between users

A dispute arising from an in-person transaction is between you and the jeweler (or the jeweler and the customer) involved. JewelersBid may, at its discretion, look into a reported complaint, but is not obligated to mediate, arbitrate, or resolve any dispute, and taking no action on a complaint is not an endorsement of either party's conduct.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JewelersBid and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, from any offer, from any in-person transaction between you and a jeweler, or from the conduct of any other user. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform develops. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of JewelersBid after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Contact page.
